Claremont Art Classes
Please join us at 5 pm on Saturday 17 April for the opening event to the Alexander Art Academy 2021 Claremont Student’s Exhibition.
Showcased annually at The Studio Art Gallery, this is the student’s exhibition of artworks produced by artists who have been mentored by Marc Alexander at the Alexander Art Academy art classes held in Claremont. This exhibition is a celebration of the students’ creativity and achievements and to reflect on what has been learned. Artworks cover a multitude of styles, techniques and themes, as each artist focused on their unique style, talents and preferences, producing their best work forward.
To better facilitate the curation of the exhibition, artists have been encouraged to create at least one artwork on quality 12oz cotton duck canvasses with the specific sizes of 61cm by 61cm square or 61cm by 76.2cm landscape or portrait. The canvasses must be stretched on a combination stretcher (constructed with mortise-and-tenon corners, keyed with wooden expansion wedges).
Students will have up until 5 pm on the 10 April to complete and submit their artworks to the gallery. All artworks will be for sale and the exhibition will run until 15 May.
