Ryno Swart

Internationally acclaimed artist, Ryno Swart (1945 – 2021), is considered one of the foremost South African figurative artists of the second half of the 20th century.

His subject matter is mostly figurative, with a love for atmosphere and chiaroscuro. He worked in oils, pastels, and watercolour, and followed the ideals of the impressionists and old masters. He worked strictly from life and imagination and had a passion for beauty in all forms.
